Written text for PSA video clip # 1 -

Planning for a disaster is important.  If you have a loss of hearing, it is
your responsibility to make certain that the authorities know you have
a hearing loss.  Offer to teach them how to communicate with you.
Teach your neighbors, family, and friends.

Written text of PSA # 2 Video clip -

Before an emergency make sure you have the types of things you will need
already packed and ready to go.  Include food, water, and a toy for your
hearing or signal dog.  Do not forget batteries for your hearing aids.  Shelters
will not have replacement batteries.

Written text for PSA # 3 video clip -

If you have a hearing or signal dog make sure you have some type of
identification with you.  The law may say you do not need it but shelters
will need to see an identification.

Jan is signing about the importance of remembering to have writing supplies if you need to go to a shelter.

Written text for PSA # 4 video clip -

If you need to leave your home because of an emergency and are told to
go to a shelter remember to bring a pad of paper and pencils or pens to
write with.  The shelter workers may not have any other way to be able
to communicate with you.
